International Distribution is Necessary

March 27, 2015 By Outley

Before the internet, television, or even radio, there was always direct marketing. Remember that entrepreneurial five year old friend you had that set up a lemonade stand in the summer for 25 cents a cup? She made more than enough to buy her and her sister some ice cream and it was a beauty of an idea! While over time, people have found a way to improve on this formula, the benefits have remained the same. The marketing concept is called direct response television (or DRTV) and it is the wave of marketing that has taken the world by storm. DRTV has gathered an enormous amount of steam over the past decade because it accomplishes for the modern era what worked for that dreamy five year old many moons ago. But why not expand those markets and think about international distribution when deciding on moving forward with DRTV for your product?

Through international distribution, you can gain all the benefits DRTV offers, and expand your potential client base on a global scale. Skip the idea of doing it on your own and hire an agency to work with. In the long run this will not only be the cost-effective solution, but will also help you reach more clients, faster. Working with a stellar DRTV agency, you can bring your product to an international platform, potentially reaching over 80 markets around the world, allowing you a full-scale international presence. And because DRTV builds brands, creates sales and communicates to consumers in a way no way that other marketing forms can, international distribution will only increase your client base in the long run.

Firstly, DRTV is defined as any television advertising that asks consumers to respond directly to the company —either by calling a 1- 800 number or by visiting a web site. This is a form of direct response marketing. And while you might think that there are obstacles to international distribution, like knowledge of the market, translation issues, logistics, operations, international clearances and certifications: the right DRTV agency that knows international distribution well will be able to assist you. Here are some highlights of how a good agency can help:

Language barriers: An expert DRTV agency handling international distribution will have staff that can eliminate any language barriers and step up to the plate to translate any material needed, whether for your website or when airing a show.

Knowledge of markets: When dealing with international distribution, you need experts who know the audience in the different markets your product will be exposed to. A quality DRTV team will help create marketing tools, strategies and offer immediate testing and quick results. Additionally, they will understand pricing strategies and solutions.

Challenges: While you want to expand your client base – there will be potential markets you will want to avoid. A great DRTV agency will be able to provide quality advice and counsel. The idea is for them to think ahead and anticipate any international distribution problems before they cost you time and money.

We all know that DRTV cuts out the middle man, helps you gain profit in a cost effective manner, and is the fastest way to create a dialogue with a consumer about your product and company therefore fostering a longer-term relationship. Expanding this idea through international distribution will not only enhance these advantages, it will also help increase your profits and awareness for your product … all around the world!

Retail Signage and Positive Consumer Interaction

March 24, 2015 By Outley

A recent survey conducted by NRF BIGResearch in which a five-year comparison of Christmas holiday consumer intentions and actions were measured showed a positive upswing in consumer confidence and holiday spending. Categories on this survey included:

• Average Amount Consumers Planned to Spend For Gifts

• Average Amount Consumers Planned to Spend for Christmas or Holiday Decorations

• Average Amount Consumers Planned to Spend for Christmas Holiday Food

• Percentage of Consumers Planned to Spend on Non-Gift Purchases For Themselves

Increases were shown in three of these categories, with the exception of a slight dip in Holiday Food (down $86.32 from 2009’s $90.14). Most telling, however, was the 2009 – 2010 jump from 52.9% to 57.1% of consumers that planned to purchase non-gift items for themselves.

Clearly, the economic market is recovering. Consumers are buying for themselves, they are buying for others, and their confidence is retail making a comeback. If you are a business owner, there is one very important way to capitalize on this positive paradigm: In store marketing. By focusing on your retail signage, you are focusing on increasing your business by giving clear and concise direction, suggestion, and opportunity to your existing and new customers.

Interior retail signage creates immediate opportunity and impact. Unlike radio advertising which encourages consumers to make time in their day to visit a location for a product or service, in-store retail signage encourages on the spot decision making, provides brand-specific messaging, educational information and interactive consumer opportunities (such as sweepstakes or product contests). With retail signage, all the information the consumer needs to make a purchase decision is literally right before them.

A trend gaining in popularity over the last few years is to use store traffic patterns to optimize your retail signage placement. An analysis of your traffic flow will allow you use your retail signage to direct consumers to favorable products or give you the opportunity to re-arrange your layout to make best use of your consumer flow.

Things are looking up for the American business owner and retail signage will play a very large role in the individual success of each corporation. Failure to acknowledge the placement and power of your in-store signage is a failure to capitalize on a massive marketing opportunity.

International Distribution and Taking Your Product to its Consumers

March 21, 2015 By Gilbert

In today’s economy, a business is only as good as its latest marketing campaign, which is why many businesses are choosing International Distribution when it comes to getting their products the exposure they need to make a commanding impact in the marketplace.  International Distribution is a profit strengthening marketing tactic that bolsters the success of your product by making it available to consumers on a global scale.  The more consumers become aware of the products and services you offer, the more clients you will receive, and the higher the success rating of both your product and your company.

What is International Distribution?

International Distribution is a marketing strategy that enables business owners and merchandisers to take their products into the global marketplace by establishing international promotions.  Basically, International Distribution allows your marketing campaign to be broadcasted on a global scale through media and televised mediums, including infomercials, commercials, trade shows, etc.  The strategy ensures that products gain international exposure, thus boosting product awareness and increasing sales margins.  International Distribution ensures that potential consumers all over the world can gain full access to your product, eliminating national limitations on sales.  International Distribution organizations can even translate your marketing campaign into various languages to ensure that no communication barriers exist between your product and its potential consumer.

nternationalDistribution

What are the benefits of International Distribution?

International Distribution dramatically increases the exposure of your products, in some cases increasing your client-base to more than 80 global markets.  This will drastically increase your sales margins, as well as the overall profit of your business.  Further, the increased brand awareness that will result from the international exposure will help to establish both customer recognition and customer loyalty.  The length and coverage area of your marketing campaign work to create stronger and more marketable products, helping to bolster the product’s success.  By showcasing your product to a broad desirable market, International Distribution can ensure that your product reaches its ultimate market potential.

How does International Distribution work?

International Distribution is generally achieved in conjunction with an external organization that manages your marketing campaign for you.  This allows you to allocate your time to the development of new products and the management of your own important business needs, rather than having to divert attentions to the demanding nature of marketing to multiple global markets.  The select organization, specializing in International Distribution, will connect your product with international partners in order to ensure that the necessary marketing criteria are being met.  Further, the marketing campaign will be translated into multiple languages to ensure that all potential consumers are able to gain full access to their newest product, producing not only international sales, but also procuring consumer loyalty on a global scale.

With modern social media creating a new norm of global social connectivity within the touch screen interface of the latest technological gadget, it only makes sense that the standards for marketing should shift towards international strategies.  With this in mind, International Distribution is a means of connecting and familiarizing your product with its entire client base.  International Distribution brings the global marketplace to your checkout queue, ensuring your product remains competitive while your sales margins continue to climb toward international success.

Hire Professionals for International Distribution

March 15, 2015 By Outley

Setting your business up for international distribution can be a major benefit by opening up new markets all over the world for you to sell your products.

If you’re planning to launch into international distribution for your products, the best route to go is to hire a company that specializes in international distribution to shoulder much of the burden for you. This will give you more time to focus on the day-to-day operations of your business, and save you the headache of doing all the legwork yourself.

But even if you do decide to go with a company that specializes in international distribution, there are some things you should do yourself before and during so that the process goes as smoothly as possible.

You need to carefully choose the company that does your international distribution because that company will be representing you in another country and everything that company does will reflect upon your business. So make sure the international distributor you choose has a good reputation and a lot of experience in the business, or your foreign representative may not be doing your business any favors.

You’re paying your international distribution company good money to do the work of bringing your products to market overseas, so they should also be doing most or all of the legwork. The distribution company should not only cover the costs to bring your product to a worldwide market, but also do the rest. Amongst other services, this should include: sending samples, making important phone calls, producing marketing materials, and attending trade shows.

The company you hire to do your international distribution should also have a good relationship with a reliable network of distributors in foreign countries and make sure that your product will be on the top of their list when supplying retailers. This network of relationships should also include selecting, negotiating and managing local partners to make sure your product is successfully tested and launched in your targeted markets. Don’t forget consulting, managing and overseeing the clearance process for your products in the different markets.

Let’s not forget accountability. Your international distribution company should give you a detailed monthly report on how your product is doing in each market, along with information about how the company is marketing your product and the success of their efforts.

If you’re the type who really likes to do things yourself and be hands-on, you might choose to set up your own international distribution department. Be aware that this will take up a lot of your time and probably involve a lot of learning. This will also mean hiring some staff. Just make sure you hire the right people, both at home and abroad to represent your business and be sure you have enough to not only fund that part of your business, but also pay your employees well so they will show your business at its best to your foreign clients.

If you have the time and energy to put into setting up your own international distribution, then it could be a good route for you. But otherwise, hiring a company that specializes in international distribution is your ticket to success in foreign markets.

5 Benefits of Using Variable Data Printing

March 10, 2015 By Gilbert

Marketers confess their amazement at direct mail’s continuing relevance in the Internet era, when email and social media should have killed it off. However, a survey by market research firms has shown that a majority of adults over the age of thirty prefers direct mail more than any other marketing medium. And here’s a blow to email marketing, a significant number of respondents revealed they did not read all the emails sent to them because of the sheer volume.

With the bulk of correspondence shifting to email, postal deliveries have declined considerably. This makes direct mail all the more relevant because recipients are now more likely to engage with direct mail, rather than junk it outright. So the challenge is now to catch and hold attention by tweaking the marketing material. Marketing surveys hold a clue to one piece of the puzzle: most respondents preferred personalized mail over generic unaddressed letters. Variable data printing lets you customize print pieces by adding text and image elements to a pre-designed template without slowing down the printing process. The simplest form is mail merging, where names and addresses from a mailing list can be added to letters at the printing stage, or by completely changing the design layout based on the recipient’s profile. Let’s see what benefits you can get from variable printing services for your campaign.

Personalization is Appealing

As we said, recipients prefer personalized direct mail (http://www.wisegeek.org/what-is-direct-mail.htm). Personalized mail also sets your communication apart from the myriad marketing messages that a typical consumer is bombarded with each day. Variable data printing lets marketers try out innovations that boost their appeal, say by including a mocked up check with the recipient’s name on it in a handwritten font to signify the amount of cash they could get back by using the advertised services.

Improve Your Brand’s Visibility Factor

Marketers also have to account for the impact of their campaign for their brand. Consumers would react more to a brand that they feel has a responsive and fluid identity, rather than staying staid and unchanging. If businesses are in a crowded field with multiple competitors, distinctive marketing is needed to attract more customers.  Marketers can make use of more colors and images that appeal to the recipient in their marketing material.

Connect with the Recipient

When direct mail accounts for the customer’s personal preferences, it can create a powerful call to action even before the recipients go through the mail. Especially, if a business offers a niche service, variable data printing lets them target their core user base. A sports merchandise shop can hook motor racing fans with a background image of a NASCAR race on their flyers, while baseball fans would be attracted to a layout that evokes a baseball field. They would feel interested to go through the mail. Businesses can also retain customers with the targeted communication offered by variable data printing.

Save Time and Money

Marketers only have to print as many pieces as the names on their list without compromising on the quality that is accepted with offset printing. This helps advertisers get stronger responses with a smaller campaign, as compared to a typical direct marketing campaign. These benefits outweigh the cost difference between conventional offset printing and variable data printing. Ask for a printing service that also provides peel and stick labels rather than auto-stamped labels for added personalization.

Find Out What Works

One effective way to increase direct mail’s impact is to test different variants and measure responses. With variable data printing, you have the option to test different layouts on sub-sections of your mailing list and gauge the impact before starting with your full campaign. One way to track responses by adding different response codes to different letters which recipients must quote when they respond.Obviously, the codes that gets cited the most points to the material which has been most successful in connecting with recipients. This helps businesses gauge the Return of Investment for their campaign.

Businesses don’t have to use variable data printing only for their direct marketing. Most communication to your regular customers, say for renewal reminders and invoices can be customized with variable data printing. The process is a good fit for high value businesses looking to stand out in crowded fields.

Postcard Printing and How it Helps

February 8, 2015 By Gilbert

Postcards have been used for many years to send all kinds of information. Those who would travel found these postcards as a great means of contacting their families back home, as they often contain pictures of the places they have been or other eye-catching imagery. Over the years, postcards have evolved and are now used for many different types of communication. People often receive postcards from their doctors or dentists reminding them that they have an upcoming appointment. It is also not uncommon to receive a postcard that contains company profiles/services, weekly deals, events, or invitations. Many wedding invitations are often formatted to postcard size, as it easy to send and looks great. The use of postcards, especially for businesses, are extremely successful because they do not run as much risk of being tossed in the trash as letters or contents sealed in envelopes do. When individuals collect their mail and see a plain envelop from a company or person they don’t know, their suspicions often lead to spam or unwanted advertising. But, with the use of postcards, the information is placed right in front of the receiver’s face, catching their attention with the carefully placed graphics and text. Postcards can also be made 1- or 2-sided so you can place as much information on as you please. The next step after choosing to create postcards is to seek the services of postcard printing.

PostcardPrintingPostcards can be made in a variety of sizes with many different thicknesses when it comes to paper. The design is up to you – the colors you choose, the type of font, imagery, coating choices, and even the shape of the corners. The most common sizes for postcards, however, are 6” x 4” and 8.5” x 5.5”, and are usually chosen to be printed on glossy paper in full color on both sides, or with full color on the front and black and white on the back. When you’re ready for your postcard printing, you will be able to tell the printer exactly what it is you want and how you want it.

When dealing with mass mail outs, postcards can also be sent via e-mail or posted on your webpage. Electronic versions of your postcard are quite handy as they fit well into the body of an e-mail message, and are not too big to be posted on your website. Sending your postcards electronically is a good way to ensure that people will read the information contained once they open up the e-mail. While electronic versions are useful, postcard printing is still the most valuable way of sending out your information.

Postcard printing is generally less expensive than mailing out letters and brochures. Because it is one piece of paper, front and back, that does not require an envelope, both the printing and mailing costs are kept to a minimum.

The best coating to choose when planning out the design of your postcards is the single sided UV coating. This coating is very shiny, and will make your pictures and colors seem richer. Because the front of your postcard is mostly pictures and not necessarily important information, this is the side that would be finished with the shiny coating. The back of the postcard is left with a matte finish, as this is where most of your text and mailing information will be contained. This will be easier for individuals to read. Your postcard printing could take longer depending on the type of finish you choose.

Having your postcard printing done on 16 point paper, which is quite thick, will help your postcard to get noticed. People often pay more attention to items that are different, and don’t seem like your regular flyer or coupon sheet. Thicker paper makes people think that maybe that particular piece of mail is worth having a look at, especially since much work has been put into preparing it on a special type of paper.

There are many letter and postcard printing companies that can produce what you need for a lowered cost, but quality may be an issue. Research some companies in your area and online to find some great printing deals that don’t compromise on quality. Kick start your planning and marketing today.

Achieving Company Success with Corporate Video Production

February 8, 2015 By Gilbert

Training within a corporation, company, or other organization has changed drastically in the past twenty years. Today many companies are using online programs and technology to train their employees. This training might be about a company’s policy, such as safety. However corporate video productions have been a popular method for company training programs for many years, and will likely remain a popular option for corporations and organizations for years to come.

An important reason why corporate video production is still used, even in a time where most people own a computer device of some kind, is that the company or organization can create one video to showcase across multiple venues or for multiple audiences. A video can be made that explains or demonstrates a standard process, or procedure of that company. For example a hospitality company could make a corporate video about safety procedures for hotel staff. Instead of relying on a trainer or a group of trainers to demonstrate the same information and processes to every group they may be training across multiple hotels around the country, the corporate video makes sure the essential message and information is demonstrated in the best way possible. When it comes to training consistency is important and having a corporate video for training purposes is an important way to stay consistent.

VideoProductionOf course technology is another great reason to use corporate video production for making videos for training and informational purposes. After all chances are whether a person works for a company or is running a company technology is being used. Computers, laptops, tablets, even smartphones are all common in many work environments. As long as the device is capable of playing videos with picture and audio, and as long as there is an Internet connection getting a company message, or information about training to employees is easier than ever. Companies can create private channels on popular online platforms like Youtube or Vimeo that employees can access when they are at work or at home. Additionally companies can use other technology, like podcasts, to help supplement the information in a training video.

Employees however might start to cringe when they hear the phrases like corporate video production. It might conjure up ideas about very unprofessional looking videos with poor production quality. Perhaps some people might recall times where they were asked to create a video for their company or organization, and had no idea what to do. They key to making a good corporate training video, that employees will not only pay attention to, but also respect and learn from is to use a professional corporate video production service. It can be easy to think that because someone has a video camera (which pretty much come standard with any phone that is purchased nowadays) that anyone can produce a training video for a company or organization. This is not the case. It is much better to spend the time and money to hire a professional company who can get the results a company desires. It will also ensure a high quality product will be available for years to come.

Corporate video production however is not just limited to videos for training and informational purposes. Sometimes a company may need to produce a video to send to potential clients or customers. If a company or organization is involved in a trade show or conference they may need to produce a video about their company or organization to show there. While the subject or material covered in the video will likely be different than what is covered in a training video for employees the quality of the video should be just as high, or even higher for videos released to a public audience. Presenting the best impression, whether or not it is a first impression, to the public about a company or organization is key, and these results are best achieved by using a professional corporate video production.

If your company or organization is looking for a film services for your next corporate video production, do your research, especially if you are in a major city. There can be a lot of competition in this industry but there is bound to be one production service that will suit you perfectly.

Direct Response Marketing Evolves

February 5, 2015 By Gilbert

When it comes to marketing to the general public there are generally 2 types of methods to choose from.  There is a brand-centric model which focuses on your image and getting it in front of your potential customer’s eyes as often as possible.  This method builds trust and familiarity, but it takes time and very large budgets to do it right.  Some brands that have become powerhouses of image marketing are Apple and Nike. The other method that is most commonly used is call Direct Response marketing.

Direct response marketing is intended to call the viewer into immediate action, by asking them to go to a website, or watch a video, or most often call in for an immediate offer. Dollar for Dollar, It has been and still is one of the most effective marketing methods used today. The DR method for many years was known mainly for mail, telephone, and infomercials.  However the industry has changed with the times and now DR marketing can be found everywhere from your TV to your Facebook newsfeed.

DirectResponse

Let’s take a look at what direct response marketing has been doing well and what they have added to the service list to stay a prime choice for marketing plans.  When it comes to small businesses with good but pricey merchandise, DR television is still an amazing choice.  The DR method has decades of research and experience in hitting the target market just right when it comes to Television infomercial advertising.  It’s not the number one ‘go-to’ for most products but the method does fill the niche better than any other.

Direct response mail still beats digital marketing hands down every day of the week.  Recently a UK company sent out very unique personal direct mailers to over 2000 select marketing and media professionals. The response they had was overwhelming, and unexpected.  The power of a physical device to deliver your message can be very effective, hitting many senses at once and staying fresh in the mind of the consumer. When it comes down to response rate direct mail can get anywhere from 10-30 times the response rate of a digital mailer. Over the years the overall effectiveness of direct mail has declined but it still remains a very effective method.

Direct response makes its debut in your Facebook news feed, and it looks pretty good.  With the goal of not overpowering the user base with overblown ads that take away from the user’s experience on the site, Facebook has taken DR ads into your news stream in the form of apps. The ads appears in the same size, and composition as your standard feed updates, but they clearly say sponsored, and below have a link to take you into the app. This is direct response at its most digital. You see a picture of the item or service you desire on this glass screen in your hand, and with one touch of your finger you are in a position to purchase a Product. This method of direct marketing is by far the newest and for that reason cannot be assessed against the other methods for effectiveness yet.  From the level of convenience it brings, there is a great chance it will prove to have a very high response rate.

Direct response has also started to take a chunk out of image marketing in the world of video too.  It is however a very small chunk, but one eats the entire sandwich even if one takes smaller bites. Old spice is one of the most known companies for their YouTube branding campaign, and they have now integrated a level of DR marketing into it. You now get the option to click on a command at the end of the video to take you where they want you to go.  This is definitely a hybrid example, but it illustrates that even brands with a stronghold on their image, also see the value in adding a DR angle to their campaign. How effective are 10 million you tube vies if you can’t convert them into paying customers. With adding a DR component you can immediately see the effectiveness level of your campaign.  Direct response has evolved and grown into a powerful marketing method, don’t overlook it when thinking about your brand.
